Painting, Clay Modelling and Sculpture
Our senses, through which perception of the outer world reaches our inner selves, are often troubled by the violence and unpleasantness of images, noises and other chaotic manifestations of today’s way of life. The colours around us have less and less in common with natural shades, the intensity of sounds increases constantly and not much is left that is pleasurable to touch, not to mention our daily contact with machines which makes us unconscious participants in their automatisms.
In the attempt of the organism to re-establish lost balance, which is the equivalent of disease, art can play a very important role and is one of the oldest means of helping man to find harmony once again and to relieve him from the weight of matter.
Artistic activities help to make the use of the senses more qualitatively alive and to favour creativity by giving freedom of expression to the emotional sphere and thereby finding inner balance.
Through art it is possible on the one hand, to make the rational world more creative and on the other, to emancipate the world of pure instinct into a more human sphere. Creative activities compensate for the unilateralism to which daily life forces us with its emphasis on the intellectual aspect or on the need for action all of which makes it difficult to colour and mould our feeling life.
Working artistically signifies stimulating the imagination and hidden creativity in every human being in order to help him/her discover the spiritual dimension within and to rise above the ever more desolating daily problems.
