What they are
Hydrotherapy treatments are therapies that use the beneficial properties of water in all its forms to promote the general health and psycho-physical well-being of the individual. At Casa Raphael, we offer a variety of treatments including balneotherapy in oil or peat dispersion, steam baths and Kneipp method lower limb showers.
Why do them
Hydrotherapy treatments are recommended for those suffering from muscle, joint and mood disorders and to reactivate the body's metabolism. They are also recommended in cases of stress and fatigue, as the relaxing action of the warm water promotes a deep state of well-being.
Benefits
The benefits of hydrotherapy treatments are manifold: they contribute to muscle relaxation, improve joint mobility, boost mood and stimulate blood circulation by aiding detoxification.
Types of treatment
The steam bath is a naturopathic hygienist method invented in the early 1900s by Chilean physician Manuel Lezaeta Acharan.
It takes place in a treatment room and consists of alternating warm, humid steam currents with cold water jets, moving from the extremities toward the heart. This stimulates sweating with dilation of the skin pores, promoting deep skin purification, allowing toxins and metabolic waste to be eliminated and modulating the neurosensory system with endorphin activation. The alternation of vasodilation and vasoconstriction creates a vascular workout with beneficial effects, which decongests and reactivates the deep circulation and hepatic drainage. This is followed by a period of rest wrapped in warm towels, so that the body has time to react. Metabolic or substance intoxications, inflammatory skin and bone diseases, skin purification, stimulation of blood circulation.
An essence for every need! Through the use of the Junge device, which mechanically disperses the oleolite into microparticles, a lasting connection between oil and water is achieved, ensuring complete integration of the two elements. This allows you to benefit from the healing properties of plants through both the bath and the skin. All the oleolites we use are produced in our laboratory. Immersion takes place in a single bath, followed by a regenerating period of reaction and rest wrapped in warm towels. There are many different uses depending on the type of medicated oil used (rosemary, eucalyptus, rose, lavender, lemon balm, St. John’s Wort, birch, etc.).
Peat is an organic substance, the result of thousands of years of transformation of plant species. It contains important minerals and trace minerals with anti-inflammatory soothing and decongestant properties. Immersion takes place in a single bath, followed by a regenerating period of reaction and rest. Inflammatory, rheumatic and dermatological conditions
Hot and cold water alternate in pebble-bottomed tubs: hydrotherapy for the entire organism, with benefits for both body and mind. Stimulation of the immune system and circulation, treatment and prevention of varicose veins and migraine.
