An oasis of peace... and taste!
One of the pearls of the Valsugana area are the countless malghe and masi (shepherd's huts), such as Maso Albio, a historic building owned by Casa Raphael.
According to Trentino tradition, a ‘maso’, or farmstead was a house mainly inhabited from late autumn, when the farming family would descend to the valley with their cattle, returning from the high mountains. They kept the cows in the meadows of the farm and in the barn, before returning to the alpine pasture at the end of spring.
From a traditional home to an oasis of relaxation, Maso Albio now houses our organic vegetable garden and orchard . Here with great care and passion we produce some of the seasonal fruit and vegetables used by our chef to prepare the delicious and wholesome dishes served in our restaurant.

We also grow the medicinal plants that we use in our herbal laboratory in the garden of the Maso.

Renovated in keeping with tradition using stone and wood, Maso Albio now houses two apartments and a stube, a room heated by a stove. The beautiful view of majestic chestnut trees and fields, where deer graze at dawn, makes this place even more special.
Every Saturday afternoon, weather permitting, Casa Raphael organises a pleasant outing to Maso Albio, about 2 km from the centre of Roncegno. This is an opportunity to spend time with others, chat, visit the vegetable garden, orchard and grounds and enjoy a healthy and delicious snack!
